The GF Partnership was incorporated as a limited company 10 years ago this month when Derek Mynott joined forces with Graham Freeman.

Their aim was to develop further the main contractor quantity surveying support service that Graham had initiated in 1991.  Derek, who began his career with Bovis and subsequently worked at Willmott Dixon, brought  23 years experience as a main contractor QS. 

The economic climate at that time recognised a demand for professional, experienced surveyors to provide interim support on contractors’ projects, enabling them to cope with fluctuations in workload or resource shortage.  The company employed 15 staff and recorded a first year trading turnover of £1.4m.

Derek Mynott, Managing Director, is celebrating his 10 years with the company by forecasting a record turnover anticipated to be in excess of £4.6m for the 2007-8 financial year ending 30 April 2008. Derek took over the running of the company in its entirety in May 1997, following Graham Freeman’s retirement.  Today, over 75 surveyors and consultants work with the organization – a team of the size that a major contractor would engage!
